Skaggs Racing is a family team dedicated to hard work, Perserverance and sportsmanship.
Warren Skaggs is the "driving force" behind this team but he does get some help from his father Warren, Sr. and his wife Tiffany.
Skaggs started out in 1988 with a modest pan car purchased from Mike Austin. This car continued to be Warren's main focus for several years until he saw the Pro Stock scene begin to explode on the West coast.
In 1997 Skaggs made the long haul to California where he purchased his record setting Pro Stock Ron Lummus chassis car from Todd Reynolds and Mike Lanning. After spending some time developing the engine and ironing out a few handling issues, Skaggs put his car on the track and ran in the Super Pro bracket division so consistently it seemed the car was made for that type of racing. Going on to rack up numerous Low E.T. awards and event wins, Skaggs would soon find himself in the midst of a rising interest for a Pro Stock VW racing class on the East coast.
In 2005 the East Coast Pro Racing Association was formed and the Pro Stock series began. Skaggs started the series with a win and ended the series with a win. The win at the last event just happened to be at the biggest VW Pro Stock racing event of the year. Winning the CB Performance Pro Stock Nationals race at Virginia Motorsports Park sent Warren home with the biggest purse in VW drag racing history. Perhaps his proudest moment at that event, however was running a career best quarter mile time of 9.70. As a bonus, Skaggs captured the first ECPRA Pro Stock points championship.
Also in 2005 the Skaggs Racing team got a new addition. When Warren learned that the Pro Turbo Ron Lummus car once owned by Chris Bubetz was for sale, he decided that he had to have this piece of VW drag racing history. Having admired the car for so long and watching old PRA videos of the car's stellar performance, he knew that his garage was where this car belonged. While Skaggs has no immediate plans for heavily campaigning this car he does hope to get it out on the track at some point.
